Colorado Paralympians Return Home with Medals

A Triumphant Homecoming

Colorado Paralympians have returned home to a warm welcome after a successful showing at the Paralympic Games. The athletes, who competed in various sports, brought home a total of 12 medals, including 5 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze.

A Source of Inspiration

  • Gold Medals: Oksana Masters (cross-country skiing and biathlon), Kendall Gretsch (alpine skiing), Josh Sweeney (alpine skiing), Natalie Wilkie (alpine skiing), and Dan Cnossen (snowboarding)
  • Silver Medals: Kevin Burton (alpine skiing), Brittani Coury (cross-country skiing and biathlon), Andrew Kurka (cross-country skiing and biathlon), and Aaron Pike (snowboarding)

Colorado Governor Jared Polis praised the athletes' accomplishments, saying, "These Paralympians represent the best of Colorado. Their stories of perseverance and triumph are an inspiration to us all." The state's Lieutenant Governor, Dianne Primavera, added, "We are incredibly proud of our Paralympic athletes and the incredible impact they have made on our communities."

Celebrating Achievements

The athletes were welcomed home with a parade and a ceremony at the Colorado State Capitol. They were greeted by cheering crowds and well-wishers who expressed their admiration and gratitude for their achievements.
